What is BCM Net e-Banking Service?
BCM Net e-Banking Service is an innovative and integrated service brought to you by BCM bank through Internet and brings you the most convenient on-line banking services. You can access and operate your accounts in BCM bank as well as perform banking transactions, and other valued added services via Internet at anytime anywhere.

Do I have to pay for the service?
No, the use of e-banking service is absolutely FREE. However, you may have to pay for some specific transactions as per the prevailing charges defined and announced by BCM bank.

What type of accounts can I access in BCM Net?
You can make inquiry to all accounts under your name, including the current and savings account, time accounts, loan accounts, card accounts, plus your joint account(s) and your children's account(s) with you as the Guardian. However, you can only operate or make transactions to these accounts based on your authority in the bank to do so.

What types of services are available in BCM Net?
You can enjoy the most comprehensive range of products and services in BCM Net. They include:

Are all the services in BCM Net available 24 hours?
Basically yes. You can access BCM Net and making transactions or enquiries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, in case you are making any transaction or sending request to the bank after the bank's cut off time or during holidays, the transaction or request will only be executed or followed up on the next working day of the bank.

What are the requirements for being a user of BCM Net?
You must be a BCM bank customer with at least one current or savings account in order to register for the "BCM Net" e-Banking service.

How is the registration process?
When you approach a BCM branch, you will need to fill in a BCM Net Agreement. Upon your thorough understanding of the terms and conditions printed at the overleaf of the Agreement, sign and give it to our branch staff. With a quick and simple registration process at the system, the branch staff will provide you a copy of your signed BCM Net Agreement together with a sealed envelope inside which is your first Access Password.

When can I start using the e-Banking service?
Basically, when you completed the registration process at the branch, your access to BCM Net is ready. This means you can return to your home or office and start accessing your account information at BCM bank.

However, if you would like to make transactions online, you must first logon to BCM Net and apply for your Transaction Password. You can choose to receive this password by mail or collect in person at any BCM branch.

How can I access BCM Net?
No matter where you are (in Macau or overseas), simply approach to a computer with the appropriate internet browser and logon to BCM bank Web Site http://www.bcm.com.mo. There, you will find "BCM Net" logo displayed at the first page and by clicking on the logo or the login button will bring you to the login page of "BCM Net e-Banking Service".

What Internet browsers are recommended to be used for the BCM Net Service?
Your PC should meet at least the minimum requirement of Windows 98 with Internet Explorer 5.5. Besides, please make sure to enable the following settings of your browser:

• Javascript (At most situation, it is enabled by default)
• SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 (SSL 2.0 is the minimum)
• Cookies

What should I do before I first login to BCM Net?
You should make sure you have read and understand all the terms and conditions of BCM Net e-Banking Service and read through the "Important User Reminder" provided by the bank upon registration.

Upon login, how do I count the position of the characters of my identification document number?
When counting the positions of the characters of your identification document number, you should ignore all signs such as "/", "( )", "-", "_", "*", "#", ":", ".", etc, and input only capital letters (A-Z) and numbers (0-9). For example:

	Macau old BIR number: 1/234567/8 3nd character is 3 8th character is 8
	Macau new BIR number: 1234567(8) 3rd character is 3 8th character is 8
	Hong Kong ID number: A123456(7) 1st character is A 8th character is 7

Is it secure to make a transaction using the BCM Net service?
Of course it is. BCM Net e-Banking Service provides the following measures to ensure your banking information and account details are secure when you are using our e-Banking Service:

• Secure Socket Layer (SSL) & Strong Encryption (128 bit)
  Secure Socket Layer and 128 bit encryption is employed to ensure confidentiality. All data and information transmitted between you and our Bank through Internet is encrypted by using 128-bit encryption.
  
  Here are some more explanation for you. IE 5.5 by default uses 40-bit SSL. If you want to use 128-bit SSL with IE 5.5. you need to download a patch. Starting from IE 6.0, 128-bit SSL is a default.
  
  
• Passwords, Identification Document Number and User Name
  Upon login to BCM Net, you must input the correct User Name, Access Password, and two characters of your identification document number. Whenever making any transaction on BCM Net, you must provide the correct Transaction Password.
• Automatic time out
  BCM Net will be automatically terminated when there is no activity within a designated time in order to protect you against unauthorized access. The "idle time", as it is named on screen under the "Settings" function, can be defined by you through BCM Net within the range of 5 minutes to 15 minutes.
• Digital Certificates
  The VeriSign certificates on our web servers serve to prove to our customers that we are who we claim to be, i.e. to confirm our identity.
  

Does BCM bank present any policy to fight against computer hacker?
Security is one of the main concerns for both the bank and its customers when banking over Internet is concerned. This is one of the easiest and most convenient ways of banking, however, can be very sensitive to hacking and online frauds if not properly protected and secured. BCM bank adopted physical, technological and managerial security means and measures in order to maximize the security of our BCM Net e-Banking Services.

• Firewalls
  Our servers are protected behind two-layer firewalls of world-leading brands. They are constantly monitored to prevent any unauthorized access.
• Encryption
  Communication between customer's browser and our servers is secured by using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol and encryption with 128-bit encryption keys, the industry standard for encryption of data over Internet. It means that any and all information exchanged between the customer and the bank during e-banking session is always encrypted.
• Cookies
  BCM Net uses cookies to store session identifier and to identify the user during the life of this particular session. Once the session is closed, the cookie will expire.
• Secure email
  As the security of an ordinary email cannot be guaranteed, our secure Internet solution BCM Net contains also email facility under "Contact us" options, included in encryption mechanism. The Bank will use this facility to send any personal or transaction-related information to our BCM Net customers.
• Password security
  The password security is strengthened by implementing rules that protect and prevent our customers from using easy to guess passwords, like for example strings of the same number or letter, or consecutive numbers. We also strongly advise our customers not to use their date of birth, telephone number or name as passwords, as other people can easily know this information.
• Random position of identification document number
  To further enhance BCM Net security, we have implemented the mechanism of inputting random position of identification document number to the login process. The system will randomly generate two positions of the identification document number for entry. This means that the positions of the 2 characters of identification document number required for entry will be different for every login. This can prevent hackers from memorizing the value of the positions of your identification document number.

Online Transactions

Can I make a transaction through BCM Net at anytime of the day?
Basically yes. However, the execution of the transaction will be based on the system cut-off time of each particular product or service. In other words, if a transaction has a day end system cut-off time, it will be executed automatically if the instruction is received before the cut-off time. If the transaction is made after the cut-off time, it will be executed or followed up by the bank only in the next working day;

Is there a charge for making a transaction?
The BCM Net e-Banking channel is basically free of charge. There will not be any additional handling or service charge if you make a transaction online. However, charges will be levied based on the normal fees and commissions defined by the bank for each particular transaction and service.

When I am making the financial transactions online, in which currencies should I indicate the transaction amount?
No matter you are making a transfer or opening a new time deposit, etc., you can always indicate the transaction currency from a pull down list, which at most of the cases, will not only make available the currencies of either the debit or credit side, but also the counter side or other currencies as to give you the highest flexibility in allocating your assets.

What are the interest rates and/or exchange rates applied for the transactions made through BCM Net?
The prevailing standard interest rates and/or exchange rates of the bank, as displayed in BCM Net, will be applied for all transactions that are executed real time online. For those transactions that are pending (e.g. transactions related to Time Deposit) or inputted after system cut-off time, relevant rates will be displayed on screen FOR REFERENCE ONLY. The actual interest rate and/or exchange rates should be based on those prevailing on the transaction execution date.

What is the Notifications Service?
BCM bank is the first and also the only bank now in Macau to provide this Notifications Service online. It is an advanced and unique service with which you can receive messages in your personal e-mail box or mobile phone for those activities or transactions that you have selected in order to be informed by the bank if some transactions will be executed in the coming days or to know if some transactions were done successfully or failed.

How can I apply for this Notifications Service?
In fact, you do not have to make a separate application for this service. Upon your registration of BCM Net e-Banking Service, you are entitled to enjoy this service at your discretion.
