09Mar10 HK stocks end up 0.05 pct, China Life at 6-wk high
Hong Kong shares edged up 0.05 percent on Tuesday for a third straight session of gains, led by China Life <2628.HK> after the world's biggest life insurer by market value revised its profit forecast upwards. China Life, the most actively traded stock on Tuesday, closed at a six-seek high of 36.25, up 2.98 percent. Intraday, it rose 4.3 percent in its biggest single-day percentage gain in more than three months after it lifted its 2009 net profit growth forecast to more than 200 percent, citing accounting rule changes. The benchmark Hang Seng Index ended up 10.68 points at 21,207.55.
