To better protect our customers’ online transactions with the use of BCM Visa or MasterCard credit cards, BCM bank is glad to announce the launching of the One- Time Password (OTP) service.
What is “One- Time Password (OTP)”?
The OTP is time sensitive and can only be used once within a short interval of time. When customer is making an online payment using BCM credit card at a participating online merchant, for verification purpose, an SMS-based OTP will be sent to the mobile phone number that has already been registered with the Bank and customer can complete the transaction with greater peace of mind.
What are the characteristics of “One- Time Password (OTP)”?
By using the OTP, there is no memorization of password. You can enjoy a more secured and protected online purchase experience because the password can only be used once and cannot be predicted. It will become immediately invalid when being used or not use within a short period of time.
How to use “One- Time Password (OTP)”?
When you make online transactions with BCM Visa Card/ MasterCard at a participating online merchant, the webpage will be directed to the following screen. Meanwhile, customer will be required to enter the OTP sent by BCM via SMS in order to verify and complete the transaction. Please follow the instruction shown on the screen and confirm the transaction after entering the OTP that you receive via mobile SMS.

If you cannot receive the OTP in time or if you are unable to enter the OTP to complete your online transaction before the OTP expires, please click the “Resend OTP” button on the transaction webpage in order to receive another valid OTP on your registered mobile phone number. Then you can re-submit the new OTP to complete the transaction.

Reminders:
If you have not yet provided or have no valid mobile number on record with the Bank, you will not be able to receive any OTP by SMS. To take advantage of this new service and in order to receive OTP for online transaction authentication, please register a valid mobile phone number soonest by visiting any BCM branch or by logging in to BCM Net e-Banking service ( with the use of Security Device).

* Please be reminded to activate your international roaming service of the mobile phone to ensure you can receive the OTP SMS to complete the online transaction when you travel to Hong Kong / Mainland China / overseas.
